Hosiery is alive and well. I saw a very tall woman on the subway today wearing a pink polo shirt and SKINTIGHT checkerboard-patterned leggings. Of not-very-thick-nylon. And that's all she was wearing.
EGADS! I couldn't even begin to figure out the semiotics of that outfit.
